Amazing detail, as ever, Roger. How do you do it? ( a rhetorical ?)

Smashing piece of atmosphere, detail and figure work Roger/

Abundant patterns here Roger, glutton for punishment aren't you? Truly fabulous painting, so well done.

I've seen this gem before I think, before the deletion of folder error!

A lovely portrait and what superb detail you have got into Basia's skirt and top - also the fire surround. Even although there is a lot going on in those passages of the painting, it doesn't detract from Basia's face and this is indeed a superb portrait of her.

Thank you to you all...very kind and much appreciated!

You are obviously not afraid of hard work. The detail is impressive, but you have not sacrificed the atmosphere and light. Impressive painting!

This is a one-off and a detail of an earlier load up but I'm sticking it on as it has a certain relevance and gives me time to get other bits sorted out before deciding whether or not to throw darts at them or risk rejection at the local craft fair where the vicar will be surprised yet again, to have won the Bristol Cream Sherry in the tombola, and presented to him by Miss Summer Breeze, a picture of appropriate fragrance and loveliness, both of which are plainly apparent....but I digress...details....the devil is in the detail...time consuming and demanding which is why I tend to avoid it. Oil on canvas...from life
