A gin and tonic maybe - quite busy but too busy - comes off a treat.

Oops sorry - meant to say 'NOT too busy'.

Hi roger this is a nice painting a lot of work gone into this i think . Its always nice as well to see the drawing and how the painting was planned well done Roger

Your drink is well deserved.

A smashing job Roger. Love the carpet ripple. The planning of this sort of work is immense and especially with interiors. Super details and technique

Thank you for kind comments...I really wasn't expecting such a positive response.

I like this one a lot - how on earth do you get the perspective so spot on? It's interesting how we are all so different in what we choose to paint and how we then approach it. I'm thinking this would take afair while to complete.

Very harmonious colours too.

Gosh..perspective, Marjorie...in all humility, I understand the principles and don't seem to have a problem recording it as accurately as it needs to be. Just luck, I suppose...however, establishing eye level helps., i.e. horizon. I also made a device from two narrow strips of card fastened together at one end but moveable...bit like the knee joint. The rest is optimism. Thank you for taking time to comment..always appreciated. Now back to those damn gourds!

Finished painting but not recent. I paint from life but the process is a long one and I make a big effort to get as much information as I need onto paper before committing anything to paint. This has been posted before but not with a previous drawing. A finished image doesn't say anything about the process of arriving at it, and that's often the most interesting part, and the most creative. Drawings and sketches display experiment, alterations, exploration and hopefully, discovery, which is why a finished work rarely has the same dynamic content. Time for a drink!
