Ox-Eye Daisies, Bamburgh by Roger Gadd

14" x 18" oil on canvas I've had an afternoon of putting things right. These flowers were floating in mid-air and needed some foliage. The whole painting needed more tonal contrast. Lightening the sea helped with that and made it a much nicer day altogether. That fits with the actual day in July 2020 when I painted the plein air pastel. We were allowed out for a spell between lockdowns. After countless walks around the park, you can imagine my joy when I had a sunny day at Bamburgh.
