A Walk on the Durham Coast (monochrome) by Roger Gadd

Just as effective as a colour version Roger…

Like the monochrome approach

A super sketch and looks all the better as a monochrome .

Love this monochrome seascape Roger. Portrays the cold, restless, strength of the North Sea.

Thank you all for your comments. When I painted / drew the original colour version, it was the autumn colours and textures in the foreground which appealed to me as a subject. I wasn't sure about "the point" of doing it in monochrome, except to meet the requirements of the monochrome exhibition. HOWEVER, the structure of the scene and the recession are better defined in this one. I'm glad I had a go.

A monochrome version of an earlier pastel, in preparation for an exhibition next year.
