Thank you both. Yes, Fiona a bit chilly and at the side of the road. Board and pastel case on the ground. I was given a kneeling mat in the summer. Meant for gardening.

Will you work this up into a painting Roger?

I started an oil before I did this pastel, Fiona. On the day I did the ploughed field pastel, I also took some photographs. I painted an oil at home, almost in one go. It's drying before I add the finishing touches. I was so taken with the subject that I returned on Sunday to do this pastel. Sometimes they become references; sometimes the plein air version is the best.

I’ve come back to have another look Roger.....I like the looseness of this but the oil just pips it to the post.
