Fabulous drawing, great skill

If you have done this plein air then it’s amazing. Such wonderful observation and detail Stephen. Love the strong shapes in the foreground contrasting with the delicate drawing on the building.

I agree with the above comments: this is a fantastic monochrome!

Nice angle and great effect Stephen. Really like the blue shade, Atlas Blue?

Thank you Heather, Carole and Mia for your kind comments. I drew this a fortnight ago sitting on a tree stump in the churchyard on sunny day. I do enjoy drawing in the open air although I creak a little when getting back to my feet.

That's so good. Great depth, and I particularly like the way you've drawn the tree foliage and the texture on the tombstones.

A beautiful composition, love the dark in to the light

Great drawing. A real feeling of depth and dark and light. You did well sitting on a tree stump to do this!

Super painting, Stephen - good subject and I like the light and dark blues.

Those gravestones and trees, forward and dark against the light, push the paler church backwards for a 3-D effect to enhance a really well balanced the the composition. You may gather that I like it. Frank.

Many thanks Jim, Lewis, Fred, Christine, Maureen and Frank.

Excellent - colour, trees shadows, in fact all of it !
