Poppy in the wind

Lovely mix of colours.

Gorgeous poppy. Do you really mean you used watercolour over a red background or have I go the wrong end of the stick?

Lovely poppy close up, there is a real thing going here today for red poppies isn't there with 3 fields of poppies on the front page at the moment!

Thank you all for your comments. The back ground idea was taken from a suggestion in a video by Jean Haines and it was fairly bright red in one corner and gradually fading to nothing in the opposite corner. I am now going to do the same poppy,which is one of my photographs, in acrylics to see how that works, as I am a fairly recent convert to this medium.

How nice to have a poppy from my garden featured online. It looks great, Robina, and I look forward to the acrylic painting. (I have just posted my own contribution to to the poppy bonanza.)
