Brilliant and expressive. I don't really understand the technique but it is very effective.

Not only a beautiful piece of work but a lovely technique. What surface did you do it on? I've tried a small picture with limited success. I suspect I did it on the wrong paper.

There is an article on silverpoint in the current LP - I don't take the magazine, but read it online. The writer suggested using a piece of old silver jewellery, but she lost me there - you can get a proper wire-holder and silver wire which work much better and won't run the risk of damaging valuable silver jewellery. I too am curious about the paper used - I remember that I used to use cartridge or watercolour paper with a coating of white acrylic gesso: it's a technique I'm very anxious to try again - silverpoint has its own unique look.

Or was it Chinese White I used .... come on, Robert, tell us how you did it.....
