Is this watercolour? If it is , you've done really well getting that lovely rich clear colour in the flowers.

I really like this picture, I like the colours in the background it really makes the poppies stand out. Well done.

Beautiful painting, and yes, is it all watercolour? Looks like it to me, it's not ink ... might be a touch of gouache or acrylic maybe... but that red is delicious.

Rita, what a delightful painting. So many people paint poppies this is one of the best.

Your poppies are beautifully rendered. Smashing wet wash too.

Thank you to everyone for your comments,I used chroma acrylic and I did do a wet wash for the background. thanks again it's really nice to get comments.

Chroma or Chromacolour? I don't know much about the former, but am very impressed by the latter - would be interested to know if that's what you mean. Gets very confusing when there are two paints with such a similar name..... rather wonder why it was allowed to happen. Anyway: whichever it was has achieved this fabulous result. Do update us, if you would, though.

In answer to Roberts question,it is( Chromacolour ) not alot of art shops stock it so I order mine via the internet, e-mailsales@chromacolour,co.uk or website -www.chromacolour.co.uk I love it because its so easy to work with, you can get lovely washes with it too.

Rita, very many thanks for that information - sorry if I concentrated rather on the medium rather than your beautiful painting using it, but I did think it might be Chromacolour, and it is an absolutely superb paint. I wish more people were aware of it; we must publicize it between us. Goes without saying of course that however good the paint, it needs a real artist to bring out the best in it, and it has one in you.
