Rhyn, you are a newcomer on this site and I think you are getting off totally on the wrong foot. What is the point of posting one painting let alone 74 if you haven't done it to expose your work and get feedback from the other members. The reply you have given above and the reply you put on my comment on your decomposing flesh painting isn't helping your cause as to atagonise and upset people isn't the way forward and won't get you the feedback you want. If you truly don't care what people think then I am baffled as to why you would want to post your work on this site in the first place. There is an understanding on the site that to post too many paintings at once compromises other people's chances of their work being on the front pages and being seen. Lots of newcomers don't obviously understand this and some kindly member might be moved to hint that this is not the best way forward and most people hold their hands up, apologise and then post much more modestly. You had such a hint and then continued to load painting after painting which then annoyed people. As for replying to me on your decomposing flesh painting that I just shouldn't look at your work - I'm afraid that is not actually practical as all work comes up as fairly large thumbnails with their captions and you cannot avoid seeing work. I realise that some art is intended to shock - it is not art that I particularly like and if you are to believe the article in the papers a couple of days ago, neither does much of the viewing public as the most time people apparently spent looking at a Damien Hirst was 5 seconds before moving on! I think it might be time to take a deep breath and start again understanding that a site like this works only with co-operation and consideration between members. You are very welcome on the site and you have interesting art to show, but to be a valued member you will need to fit in with the general ethos.

Rhyn I quite like this one... although it makes me think of hemorrhoids. And like them you are seriously at risk of being percieved as a pain in the proverbial. So please take note of Theas comments.

adobe Brownlove please keep your personal problems with yourself!!

Hmmm... just seen this exchange, having looked through your gallery with interest. Ryhn, if you'll allow me to say so, both Thea and Ade .. well, actually, sod what I was going to say, they can speak for themselves. I haven't followed the thread to which Thea is referring, don't know who said what to whom etc, but ... honestly, I don't see the need for all this: your work is interesting, and I've enjoyed looking at it; these "rules" about who can post what and when aren't rules at all - you'd soon have been told if they were. I think all this has been over the top for a first-time member of the site, so much as I revere Thea and Ade, I frankly think a bit of backing off on all sides would be appropriate now, and while I appreciate the sincerity of the advice given, a) I'm not exactly surprised if it annoyed you, and b) I look forward to seeing more of your work. You've got plenty of character, anyway, I see, and are not about to let yourself be rebuked for some imagined offence. Good!

thankyourobert, well the problem started when I uploaded them all, by the time I uploaded them all, I checked my hotmail account and saw so many posts, mainly negative, it was not meant to be like this, and I did personally wrote to the website manager which she replied -- Dear Rhyn, I am sorry you have had negative feedback concerning multiple postings on the website. The people concerned have been told that painters-online does not impose any limits on postings, as 1 person posting 10 images or 10 people posting 1 has the same effect on the homepage. The gallery is the most popular area of the site and attracts hundreds of entries every day therefore no one image can remain for long on the homepage. Future upgrades to the site will consider any possibilities for improving this issue. Thanks for you email. Kind regards, Dawn

Rhyn, Dawn's answer is exactly right of course ... I do understand that people get fed up with multiple postings, but how on earth were you supposed to know that....? And it's true that if 40 or more people posted just one image in just one day, the effect would be just the same. If it's an issue at all, it's an issue for POL, not the individual contributor. As I said, I have great respect, as I hope they know, for Thea and Ade, but even though I've got a bit peeved with some multiple postings (frankly, the worse the work, the greater the irritation) I was happy to see your work because it was unfailingly interesting. And - I've got to be honest about this - if I had received a welcome like that on POL when I first posted work, I wouldn't have come back again. But I hope you DO come back, because you have something to say. So, hoping I haven't made two enemies in an attempt to gain one friend, may I wish you all the best and hope to see more of your work!

Seeing Robert's comments, I do hope I was trying to be constructive and help Rhyn to just appreciate how the site works best. I could see that some others were getting very irritated and my motives were to try and steer Rhyn away from the issues that caused that irritation while still welcoming him to the site. I know that POL don't like to impose rules and I agree with them. However, as you admit yourself, multiple postings can ruffle feathers and I have suggested several times to POL that just a brief guidance note might avoid this sort of thing happening. I think there was an issue on both sides, but hopefully all is over now and we can all go forward and appreciate what Rhyn has to offer.

Hope so, and I know of course that you had no wish at all to cause any hurt. Let's move on.

thankyou, but of course im staying and posting works in the future, but from now on I will just upload a small fraction mabye 5 a week, if that :D

Good decision, Rhyn. That way each of your excellent paintings will get the recognition it deserves.

all of that nonsense aside, I've finally looked through your gallery, and there are some very impressive works here - amazing even. Multiple postings can be overwhelming, and much can be missed, which in many cases - yours being a good example - missing them is a shame. But, hey - I think you got the hint so who am I to laboiur the point! :-) Bloody good works nevertheless. Incidently, you do have the option to delete unsavory comments in your gallery.

no its fine, comments are there to be made, and thankyou for you support!!
