Just so hungry looking at it Rebecca. The red cherries are very nice , especially the ones with the stalks in and I like the idea of making the cake white and to emphasize this just paint the background in a darker colour. Looking forward to the finished painting :)

hi Sarah, have not seen your comments around for ages....... hope you are ok :-) im really glad for the advice about the background as i have covered the cake with white releif paste to make it look like cream or frosting :-) the best bit about the cherries with the stalks is that you can pick them out if you do not like them :-) I think a darker background would help make the white cake stand out yes, :-) thank you :-) im really happy you like it :-)

This is the cake that is in the planning stages, i sketched the cake in pencil first, and the cherries were inspired by (i think) Julie, :-) the cherry scone and cuppa comment on my last painting :-) well i thought il have cherries i can take out as i do not like them, but make the cake look pretty i thought :-) the red cherries are Hordam watercolour red, i think the rest of the cake may be white relief paste.......... what do you all think? il delete this picture once i have uploaded the completed painting :-)
