Excellent stuff Rebecca, nice placing of the boat. Did you use a sprinkle of salt on this? Perhaps a touch more dark on the three men in a boat, perhaps not. best Mick

yay my first comment for this painting :-) thank you. Correct, i used salt :-) do you mean, make the people darker? thank you for your comment and looking at my artwork :-)

The salt works really well Rebecca. Though you could also have got the same effect by putting it out in the rain for a minute. Lol. My wash out pic was done accidentally like this. I like your three men in a boat, they are sort of sailing off into the mist.. All you need now is Montmerency the dog sitting in the stern.. You will have a perfect illustration for Jerome K Jeromes " three men in a boat"

salt keeps me dry though :-) it's a thought though :-o hmmmmm a dog in a boat, I do not think I could do that, the positioning is one I have not done before and would not know where to begin.. I have no idea who jerome k is :-) thank you for your comments :-)

I was thinking more darkness to the people to make the boat and characters merge into one silhouette. It may be worth trying this out on a few scraps of paper to see if you like the effect. best Mick

oh i see, i did actually paint over the people as i thought they were too light, and 'merged' with the boat, and i did not want people to think, they were the boat, so i added more black to them. I will give your idea a go. Thank you. :-)

Rebecca, your sky wash is fantastic, great colours in sky and sea. Clever use of salt. Good composition.

Rebecca, I feel that you are gaining in confidence with this one, which is my very favourite of your work up to now. I'm looking forward to your next postings :).

:-p iv done more than 4 paintings today and i am only allowed to upload 4, (i accidentally upload 6 the other day) as i cant count :-) i have just almost finished another one of these choppy waters paintings with hopefully the added Mick suggestion (though i do not think it has worked) i think i can upload 1 more today, so that will be next :-)

Rebecca, I missed this one before commenting on your latest. I think this one is great! Love your washes, the sky is gorgeous. What colour have you used for the sea, it's very effective.

Hi Rebecca! I, too, think you are gaining in confidence and hence branching out. Keep up the good work and enjoy your painting - we do !!

Hi Fiona, :-) glad you like it, well, at the moment i am using the Lyra Aqua crayons, it's a tin of 12 watersoluable wax crayons. So i am using the Prussian blue and adding i think its called, sap green, and a lighter green, to get different tones. Then i add salt :-p to the painting that is :-)

Hi Lionel :-p i am really pleased you enjoy my artwork, and everyone else is too :-) thanks for your comments and for looking at my work.
