This is a super painting. The solidity of the stone wall contrasts so well with the frivolous colours of the sky, with the white tower linking the two perfectly. Really well composed and painted.

Lovely crisp watercolour Ray, great colours.

A quick sketch!!!!You are joking :). It is so very nice, the wall the tower and the sky. A beautiful scene .

Thanks to you all for your comments. This took about 3/4 of an hour to complete - and most of that was waiting for various washes to dry. It is on a page of a 10"x7" pad of Bockingford paper, using a box of paints I picked up on a trip to Moscow earleir this year. Yes, I went all the way to Russia and forget to take my sketching kit - idiot!

Don't know the area, but love this delightful painting Ray

A quick sketch on a beautiful but chilly evening last weekend - September 2012. If you know Porthcawl, South Wales, UK, you'll know this old coastguard tower.
