Great Grandfather

This is a super portrait. There is no need to be scared of flesh tones as you use them so well in interpreting the light and shadows on his face. Well done!

Very well painted indeed.

Super portrait.

This is beautifully painted with excellent flesh tones.

Well... I'm certain I didn't deserve your kindness showing throughout your beautiful comments! The first (main) thing I don't like most in the painting - it's the acrylic gesso texture - way too rough, and it's noticeable... But it's the second and last painting I've done on the paper. I just have had no any canvas home to practice, so I placed the order, and did these two *warming up paintings to not waste a time 😉 Regarding your keen comments dear friends ... You way too kind to newbie like me 😊😊😊 Let's get me some critique then! To bring me down on Earth from the clouds you just sent me to 😉 THANK YOU!

Well, it's my second "warm up" in oils, after "Jack the Border Collie". I’m much more confident of painting animals rather than people, but I do enjoy letter as well. I'm always scared of flesh tones, shadows and face features ... 4"x6" (smallest size I've ever done). Pastelmat paper 360gs, acrylic gesso primed. Winsor&Newton Griffin Alkyd oils.
