Acrylic becomes easier the more the layers are added, especially with the addition of white. And of course it depends on the kind of acrylic. I have a few tubes of heavy body ( white and Naples Yellow) which I like but on the whole I prefer oils. Excellent form and stance here John.

The flesh tones are very good and this is not so easy with acrylic as you say.

Very good physique John, and I rather like the white outline you have left.

This is a lovely gestural figure John with lovely shapes. I like th e white outline which makes it look luminous.

A great painting and I think it’s done beautifully.

Excellent John

Nice one John

Nice work, John - I also like the white outline, works well against the blue background.

Excellent tones and form John. The lighting superb as always.

And a real woman John!

This was from a reference photo Marjorie. It is best to work from a live model, I did used to go to life classes. Painting the dimensional object is the best be it a landscape, portrait or still life. Thank you for your acrylic tips, I also prefers oils. One thing I do like about Acrylics is you can alway paint over an area with white and redo almost straight away.

Thank you folks for you comments it is very much appreciated.

Really like your blending of light and shade to paint her form . Not easy with acrylic, well done.

Acrylic painted Figure study on cartridge paper. Size A3. Slowly getting a better sense of form. But acrylic is not so easy to work with in this subject, its a case of mastering the medium in whatever one uses.
