A great composition Philip - I really feel as though those sheep are being hurded straight at me !- love it

Can't believe you got all this content on a post card size support....I couldn't do this good a job on A4!Lol. Love the sky!

Lynne, Annette and Fiona,
Thankyou for your comments.
Lynne - I have come to like a structure to a picture.
Annette - To make an attractive picture is my aim, glad you like it.
Fiona - The template for these pictures is 16 centimetres long and 12 centimetres high with each side divided into three so I get a good guide for fore, middle and background locations as well as locating points of interest. I started doing the pictures this size as quick studies with the idea that, if they worked I would go on to do a larger piece. However, I have begun to enjoy this size, they are quick to do, drying times are less problematical and I get plenty of practice at watercolour techniques. This format is especially useful en plein air, you don't need an easel and you can hold the water colour pad in your hand. I use Winsor & Newton 'Artists Water Colour Paper', 300gsm / 140lb size A5 and W & N Artist's Water Colour. I will post todays pic shortly.
Thanks again,
Philip

Good atmosphere, looks fun. This would make a good card reproduction as it's humorous.

This is a stunner and I just love it! The sheep are genius and the one in the front centre is a very suspicious character and he's giving me a very old fashioned look! Great work.

Pat, Thea & Jenny,
Thank you for your comments and encouragement.
Philip

Love this one too. If your a sheep fan ,look at the work of photographer Ian Lawson and his Lakeland Herdwicks.
Diana

Such effective control on so small a scale - masterly!
Not seen your work before Philip. What a lovely treat . Have just had a walk through your pics. Enjoyed them all. Thank you .

I love this - the backlighting and the sheeps' faces!

Loving all your sheep pictures

Great scene. I like the economy of your method. A very good piece of work. John

It's nice to see a different composition, works well with your style.

This is great! Unromantic and very realistic. Love the backlighting.
