Lovely work on the dog - especially the eyes Philip. Not so sure about the blue background though - a bit over-powering.

This is a wonderfully strong and emotional portrait. Scooby looks to have been a wonderful character and I am sure you miss him a lot. I rather disagree about the blue background as I feel everything in the painting should be bold and vibrant to reflect what you say his personality was.

Thank you Thea he certainly was that.

I painted this as a tribute to my recently departed Springer Spaniel, Scooby. An enormous mutt with a head the size of a kail pot. He adorns a place on the wall and looks down on us. I painted this in near enough a whole sitting using acrylics and an acrylic varnish once completely dry. I feel that I have caught his strong presence and soft furry features in place.
