Beach Valerian-Aldeburgh
The pebbly beach at Aldeburgh may be unique in its random spread of Valerian. Essentially its a weed but in my painting a convenient platform for this view of the North Sea and the impending threat of a storm. I have loosely portrayed the valerian as a lead into the picture and in contrast to the sharper lines of the boats. A watercolour and gouache painting, 50cm x 29cm on 300gsm Two Rivers paper.
