Congrats on getting this published - never easy as I have found out with my cartoons, but well worth all the effort. And this is certainly worthy - a great painting - or is it a cartoon? or a paintoon?

Hi Michael, Thanks very much. A comic painting maybe?

A worthy successor to Donald McGill. And really, a very good painting .... We have the excellent cartoonist Rupert Besley on the Isle of Wight County Press: can't help wondering if they'd risk offending our old women of both sexes by publishing this, though. Our loss!

Thanks Robert. Yes it'll be intersting to see how this kind of image goes down these days, or more to the point, tomorrow!

this is great Peter, well done

Raised a smile with me Peter and I'm sure will do the same tomorrow over The Herne Bay breakfast tables!!

Well done...Bold and brave and saucy in the best tradition of seaside art.

Naughty but nice! lol

Thanks Petra, Christine, Ruth and Debs!

I love these saucy postcards, always make me laugh. Well done Peter.

I can't see anybody taking offence at these postcards, unless they lost their sense of humour, used to spend ages in Blackpool looking through the cards.

My local Herne Bay Pier pier pavilion, a bit of a loveable but ugly 70s architectural icon, is currently under the demolition man's hammer. However, plans are (ahem!) abreast to design a more aesthetic replacement for the main pavilion which was once home to a legendary skating rink now at Herne Bay High School. I had gander at the plans in last week's local paper and the new design gave me erm, a couple of pointers regarding a painting opportunity. The above is my Donald McGill-inspired watercolour entitled 'Abreast of Plans', (dimensions approx 30cm x 30cm). This will be on the front page no less of The Herne Bay Times tomorrow morning, (Thursday 16th Feb 2012) so this is a sneeky peek! More painting details at www.petergander.blogspot.com
