Nice work Pete.

Super painting Pete, the waves look so powerful giving a great atmosphere.

It usually seems to be a bit rough and windy down there. All that is missing is Poldark.

I like both Versions Pete but the translucent quality of watercolour always gets my vote.

Good strong tones in the land and a good feel of the turbulent sea.

This is wonderful I like it.

Watercolour on Arches NOT paper. 140lb. 1/2 Imperial. I painted a similar scene in acrylic last year of this group of mines on the West coast of Cornwall. This is a slightly different angle, but still as dramatic. A fairly limited palette of Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Veridian, Cotswold Stone. A few highlights with white gouache, but the sea is mainly achieved with masking fluid.
