A real beauty Peter I can see why you enjoyed it so much

Nice work Pete. Good topic (-:

Exceptional work on the Tall ship! Really nice!

Beautifully painted Pete.

Thanks Dennis, Jim and Skylar. Appreciate your comments.

Thanks again Margaret.

Nice work Peter although not come across les Spence, however Rick Stein is still going strong in Padstow if you get peckish and can afford his prices.

Thanks Alan. Always appreciate your comments. I'm not big on seafood (as opposed to see food.... that's different). I'm not sure whether Les is still actively painting as he is well into his 80's now.

I love sailing ships and this is beautifully done, Pete. Looks like everything is nicely squared away!

Thanks Wib. Appreciate it.

This is a real beauty Pete. I love the cloud formation with the moon shining on the tops. That sailing boat is wonderful. Well, in fact, this whole painting is great.

Thanks Adele. Lovely to hear from you.

Love this atmospheric , dramatic painting. Your treatment of colour is very subtle Pete.

Thanks Carole. It was a fairly limited palette of Burnt Umber, Ultramarine, Titanium White, Cad Red, Cad Yellow, Cad Orange.

A very nice picture Pete, well painted it has a lovely calm about it.

Thanks a lot Barry.

Mood and atmosphere abound Pete, love the limited palette.

My thanks Fiona. Always a pleasure to hear from you.

Love the atmospheric drama and your colour palette Pete

Lovely, Pete.

My thanks Shirley.

Beautiful Pete, there must be a great story to go with this.

Acrylic on Galeria paper. 20" x 16". Finished this off today. It's inspired by a Les Spence painting. Les Spence used to work out of Padstow under the name of 'Jason'. I always admired his work and when we holidayed in Cornwall we always made a beeline for his Gallery. I loved to watch him paint and spent many hours pouring over his work in the gallery. Sadly, he closed the gallery in the '80s and Padstow was never the same after that.
