2. Colin Cripps 25 Jul 2013 21:02 I agree. A fine piece of work. I particularly like the lichen on the old post.

3. kirstie . 25 Jul 2013 21:53 wow - I love the way you have painted the wood texture. Brilliant !

4. Michael Edwards 25 Jul 2013 22:23 Don't knock yourself - this is really a most successful piece and one I would be proud of.

5. Ros P 26 Jul 2013 07:55 This is really good Peter the amount of detail in it is super and that wooden post is lovely!

6. Carole Swingler 26 Jul 2013 10:11 This is brilliant Peter, great first painting in CP

Dawn Broughton 26 Jul 2013 14:38 I like this very much. If this is a first attempt I can't wait to see the rest. I love the way none of us are ever satisfied. I'm glad I joined this site it made me realise that I'm not the only one who wants to be better.....every time. Keep it up this is great.

8. Seok Yam Chew 12 Aug 2013 14:23 This is a delightful piece, Peter. Not sure why you think you need more work - I really like the palette and the detail. I hope there'll be more colored pencil work to come.

Lovely detailed work with lovely colours Peter, love that wooden post in the middle

Good to see this one again, and I still think your technique works just fine - it all depends on what you wanted to do I suppose, but for the viewer, this is very satisfying.

I don't think your technique lacks anything as this is wonderful. Fantastic attention to detail and executed with a light and sure touch.

Hi Peter, thank you for your comments on my drawing, I just love to draw, its so relaxing , my pencils do as they are told, unlike the pencils, I cant get the colours I want or the sharpness, although you seem to have mastered it. I tried the embossing tool on the inktense pencils but as soon as you add the water the line is gone, I think maybe acrylic might work on the lighter bits, will let you know if it works.

Reorganising my portfolio and transferring comments. This is my first attempt, using Derwent colour soft pencils, I think I need more work on my technique. Derwent paper A4
