Monsieur Lesellier's Working Lunch
This is version 2 of a portrait of M. Bernard Lesellier, farmer and former mayor of the local commune near to Villers-Bocage in Basse Normandy. The picture is painted in W & N Griffin Alkyd oil (quick drying) on a 80cm x 60cm stretched canvas, Although now sadly deceased, this painting shows him still working in his fields at the age of 80+. He is taking lunch of a cheese & ham baguette with a plastic glass of wine (although he made his own cider & Calvados!) without breaking off from his labours. The original version of this painting is with his family in their Normandy farmhouse.
