First of a series of canvasses painted from images of WW1 with nature giving the only colour to the otherwise stark black and white imagery of 'total war'. In 'The Sinking' I have depicted to demise of the HMS Queen Mary during 'The Battle of Jutland' on 31 May 1916. In the foreground glide my favourite British seabirds- Fulmars.
