It's good Pauline, very good. It's just that the stones in the foreground appear to be floating in the air a little and not beded in the wet sand. Hope you take this as it's meant.

Works well with the format. Not sure if I agree with Jim on the floating pebbles, but it could be fixed anyway with more shade and shadow.

Don't take my comment as a criticism please, it's just my view. The painting is terrific, maybe I took too much notice of the title and thought the sand would be sodden. . Peace...(-:

Good grief, Jim, I'm not at all offended, I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out, I was getting tired and fed up! I've given the offending stones some shadow as suggested by Linda and now I need to see if I can update the picture here... Constructive criticism is always welcome, otherwise I won't see it as other people do x

I like the picture as it is - it has an expressionistic quality.
