Hello Paul, I'm really enjoying looking through your work and having an nostalgia trip at the same time. My older brother used to have a Ford Anglia, I think it was his first car. This painting reminded me of the film I saw last year called An Education; it's a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. Try and see, I am sure you will enjoy it. What size is this painting and what is it painted on board, canvas? Thanks for sharing. Best regards ~ Anni Morris

Hi Anni, Thanks for your comments. The inspiration for the car came from memories of a friend in the mid-70s. She owned an Anglia in these colours, though it's not her in the painting. I've seen 'An Education' on dvd- it's a superb period piece and provides much artistic inspiration. The storyline conjures up many more ideas too. My memories of the '60s are mainly from reaching teenage near the end of the decade. The painting is in acrylic on canvas, 20 x 16 inches. There will be more on this theme! Regards Paul. PS If you have any more 1960/70s memories that you would like to share, you never know, it may inspire a painting,

Paul, brilliant picture and great subject. Fab

Here is a memory Paul, so many people will have come across Ford Anglia's back then, great suggestion of a story in this Acrylic

Fire up the Anglia!......memories of cars, people and places of the early/mid 70s come together for this piece. Who is being tempted by what, or by whom, I leave to your imagination!
