Thanks Jackie. I used my memories of girls wearing these styles in the early 1970s- the outfit is actually based on the girls' uniform during my time at 6th Form. (If you check out 'Love, Hate, Kiss or Adore' in my gallery you'll see another variant on that theme, lower left.) I recall that knee socks and heeled shoes were quite common amongst fashionable girls from the 1960s to about the mid/late 1970s. The car is broadly based on a mid/late 1960s Lotus Elan- somewhat similar of course to an MG Midget.

Agree with your great description of your inspiration for this, the open door with the booklets on show is a great idea, and the Knee socks and shoes as Jackie said above
