Love this series Paul, the colours and the 'texture' there's a super 'smoothness' to them. very tactile, want to reach out and touch them, almost like a piece of sculpture.

Hi Debs, Thank you for your comment. Glad you're enjoying my paintings. I've devoted much effort to achieve the tonal and textural finish to my pieces- still plenty to learn but I'm very pleased with how the process is developing. Interestingly it's got to the point where I can now realise at least 90%- often considerably higher- of the image I determined to create at the outset of the painting. Regards Paul

I love your paintings! THis one reminds me of when I was stood up one evening, waiting outside the station. How painful it was at the time! Your colours are bright but not garish and the texture so smooth. What's the secret?

Hi Jackie, Thanks for your comment. Sorry you were stood up! (I can empathise with that.) Though that's the sort of story I'm attempting to convey through my work. I work with Chroma Atelier Interactive acrylics, just add water and binder medium to get a nice smooth consistency similar to cream. With practice it covers well and can be blended. As the paint doesn't generally form a 'skin' it can be worked reasonably freely. I love the vibrancy of the colours and like to get a poster art feel to many of my pieces.

Thanks for telling us what paint you use. I'll drop you a line with some of my 60s-70s memories. I became a teenager in 1966 and remember it all so well (I think!).

Here's my latest piece- a follow-on from 'The Journeys of Youth'. I'm currently working up a third piece that will complete the set- watch this space in about a month's time!
