Summertime Blues

Looked at this and at first I didnt like it. Looked again and again...now I really do like it. Your gallery reminds me of "Hopper" the American artist. A sense of place and time lesness.

Hi Sylvia, Thanks for your observations. I'm interested that something about the painting kept bringing you back to it even though you didn't at first like it. Hopper was my greatest inspiration to return to painting after many years away from art. In addition to Hopper I am also influenced by the work of Jack Vettriano and the lesser-known, but excellent, Kenton Nelson.

Again you have captured an image from that time that so many of us can relate to
