Hi Paul, I was enjoying your latest painting and just discovered you originally came from Bournemouth which is where I live! You have often passed very favourable comments about my work on this site(including my latest oil "Late Afternoon, Walberswick") and now I can return the compliment about your work! I have toured California on several occasions and remember the coastline very vividly as you have portrayed it. A very accurate rendition and it doesn't take much imagination to 'hear' the waves! Loved reading about your life and background too! Geoff Storer

He Geoff, thank you for your note and complimentary comments on my painting of Point Lobos. I used to live near Bournemouth Cliff gardens right on the edge of the chime. The big house is gone now, torn down when the cliff continued to collapse. We left Bournemouth and immigrated by ship from South Hampton to Canada in 1950.

One can see sea lions basking on the shores or hike the trails up some of the rocky cliffs for views of scrashing waves on the rocks. An exilerating day that I wanted to capture in this painting.
