This looks familiar, to an Islander like me .. wish I knew a bit more about yachts, I'm reluctant to paint what I don't understand. But you obviously do.

Er... understand them, I mean, not paint what you don't understand: I was suddenly conscious of a touch of ambiguity there!

Dear Robert, I knew what you meant. Since moving to the island, I have spent a long time looking at all those yachts around Cowes, and sketching them. You soon get the shape and proportions, just practice.
