Faith and the Goose
Completed in charcoal on Canson Mi Teintes paper. I am pretty excited about this drawing. I have entered it into the SGFA Draw 16 competition. Its the first competition I have ever entered. I'm not expecting anything but it would brilliant to get selected for the exhibition. This is Faith, the daughter of a friend. When I saw this photo I knew immediately it would make a great piece of art and asked her straight away if I could use it. She's been loving following the progress drawings I have put on facebook. The main thing was to capture the expression on Faith's face, she is obviously frightened but I still needed to ensure that the picture raised a smile. For this I needed to make sure the goose wasn't too scary, I kept his expression curious not menacing. There was also alot more going on in the composition that was a further challenge to deal with. I would really love to know what you think of it.
