That Bird has my Wings
Isn't that a great title. I heard it on a podcast recently on mindfulness whilst I was drawing this and it kind of stuck. This is a long tailed tit that I photographed coming in to land on the suet in my garden. I love capturing the moment birds just land or just take off. He is drawn in charcoal with a little bit of ink. There are so many names given to long tailed tits - flying lollipops, bush oven, feather poke, pudding bag and my favourite bumbarrels. John Clare wrote a poem where he refers to them as 'coy bumbarrels'
