I like it's elegant simplicity...

Thank you for your comment, there is an old saying, "keep it simple", and it works. Sometimes we make it too busy with detail, my Hastings painting is like that.

Hello Paul, Sorry for the delay in replying to your comments about my work, I have not been well of late. I don't know what kind of horse 'Kelineaf' is, I was sent images to do a painting from as a surprise present for the owner, I've been in touch with my customer but she hasn't replied as yet.Have I been influenced by other artists, most probably, there are lots of artists alive and dead whose work I admire. We all gain from seeing other artists work. This one of yours for example, Simlify things could be an infuence in some of my future paintings. Regards Joe

Simple and elegant - great shadow to "anchor" (if you'll pardon the pun) the boat to the sand. The mast is really well painted too

On the Beach painted in 2006 was my first attempt at watercolour. I got the idea of this veiw from an ad in a magazine, I enjoyed working the washes on the painting, a real favourite with my friends.
