I bet it looks something really special in it's full format Pat. I really like the blends of the foreground grasses. Good to see you posting again pat, and thank you for your recent comment on my painting.

Am only just back to posting and looking at portfolios Pat, and I really like this. It captures exactly that rather open, lonely windy feeling of commonland. I like the greens which seem just right for this subject and the tracery of the trees, somehow linking the picture together and can imagine what they look like if continued into the long format. The car provides the little touch to show it is a place used by and crossed by humans.

This is a long narrow painting (12" x 30") but only less than half of it. I did a Watercolour Sketch on site in February and this week painted it in oils on canvas. This is on the outskirts of Beverley, an open space of common land, hence lots of dog walkers. I'll attach the other side of the painting in a few minutes. I haven't learned how to crop a photo properly yet! It looks quite good in this format, better than the photo suggests.
