Great idea and design! We also have a bunch of hooligan starlings that mob everything else in sight, but they have grown on me. Oh by the way, another super little painting Jo. I enjoy seeing your work every day.

Nicely done Jo. We’ve found that these don’t deter our squirrels and one even got inside the cage section but struggled to get out after eating as much as he could!

Goodness -your squirrels are super crafty! For the time being, though, I'm just enjoying the fact that a wide variety of small birds can eat in peace!

We had quite a journey to find a feeder-cage that would deter squabbling gangs of starlings. Most proved good for deterring agile squirrels, but starlings with their long necks and beaks proved even more adept at reaching those delicious sunflower hearts -even sometimes squeezing through the most unlikely gap! However at last lots of careful observation and online googling paid off, and here is the result! Peace reigns, and the smaller birds can feed undisturbed. Copyright : Jo Morton 2023
