I'm loving your dedication Janet! Jubilee is a wonderful pool to visit isn't it. I must say that I am really enjoying your mark making techniques, almost 'gouache' in feel, which intereestingly is exactly what was used in the 20's and 30's for a lot of the classic GWR posters. Janet Scott sent in her 'Inspired by Hockney' painting saying: 'Inspired by Glyn Macey's article, I paid a visit to Jubilee Pool, Penzance, but it is closed in February! I was able to take a photograph from the pavement in landscape mode and I then painted two pictures in portrait format, one from each half of my photograph. Glyn's lovely painting looks so simple, yet it is really difficult to get the smooth washes and straight lines. I used just four acrylic tubes, white, ultramarine, bright green and yellow ochre. I resorted to a sepia pen and a ruler for the railings. Great challenge!'
