John Conway sent in a few of his Bomberg-inspired paintings saying: 'I received November's 'The Artist’ this morning and was delighted to see David Bomberg being recognised. Long overdue, it seems. He came to my attention in ‘All Too Human’ at Tate Britain earlier this year and I’ve since done a number of paintings with him in mind. The show at Ben Uri was spectacular; he's definitely a hero of mine now and I had no regrets catching the crowded train down from Manchester to go and see him. Great article on Bomberg and thank you for raising him to a bit more prominence. I kinda feel a sense that people feel I’m going off piste with my admiration however I know he’ll play a strong influence in my future, regardless.'
