Barry Baxter sent in his version of the shoreline exercise saying: 'I decided to impress pebble shapes into a texture paste ground and when this was dry I dribbled warm darks over it so they settled between the shapes. Then I added specific tones for variety and to harmonise with the background houses etc which I kept indistinct for atmosphere. I then picked out a few highlights and darks to reinforce the composition.'
