Manola Solo sent in their version of Paul's challenge saying: 'This was done on Clairefontaine rough which has a very unfortunate regular surface pattern. Trusty Winsor Newton tube paints : French Ultramarine, Indian red, Viridian and Burnt Umber were used for darks and Raw Sienna for lighter areas. No idea what prompted the cyclist's presence as a potential focal point too close to the middle. Perhaps I watch too many reruns of the Last of the summer wine. The cycle itself shows how little I know about cycling. It was great fun to do though the darks in foreground ( as is obvious) took me too many layers to establish'
