Paul Talbot-Greaves Challenge Five - September 2017
Lynne Williams sent in her version of paul's September challenge saying: 'I started by lightly sketching the far hills and the shape of the river. Next I established the aerial view and composition of the trees masking these areas with masking fluid. Using a mop brush and working wet-in-wet I applied a wash of cobalt blue with a touch of alizarin to the sky. The far hills were painted with a light wash of ultramarine with Chinese white and cadmium yellow and ultramarine/Chinese white. Greens were made mixing ultramarine/cadmium yellow and cadmium yellow/viridian. A substrate of raw sienna was applied to the river and sky colours dropped in.'
