Helen Rendell sent in her version of Paul's August challenge saying: 'I decided on my colours first and then the main focal point. I wanted a very light area somewhere and it ended up as the road. I had decided on purple shadows but put on too dark a tone to begin with then had a problem with one area. Having tried to lift pigment and workout how to deal it in different ways I decided the only answer was to turn the offending bit into a bush.'
