John Cowan sent in his version of Fingal's Cave saying: 'I painted this exercise onto a 11" X 8" wooden board this unfortunately was a mistake as in this painting the grain shows up quite clearly. Never mind I enjoyed the process of painting the power of the sea against rocks. I used System 3 acrylics and brushes although I was tempted to use palette knives but I resisted for once. Thank you for giving me the exercises and challenges it has made me think more about the painting process and I have enjoyed the laziness of someone else deciding my projects for me.'
