Some wonderful texture paintings from the Artist mag.

This version of Paul's exercise was sent in by John Cowan who says: 'I painted this picture from the exercise in January`s Artist magazine, I used mainly palette knives for the work and finishing with a small brush for the crows. The painting is on plywood board which I had used for another painting this helped with the rough texture and I overpainted with a yellow tinted white. I painted some poppies in the foreground to give a bit more depth to the scene, but I was not happy with the fact there was no life about this field, therefore three crows were added and the title is "Three Corbies" (old Scots for crows). The paints are Daler and Rowney System 3'
