PTG Exercise 3 - Moorland View
This version of Paul's exercise was sent in by Nena Parkes who says: '1. As on the last landscape, I primed surface (canvas board) with burnt sienna, raw umber and a touch of red. Allowed to dry. 2. Using flat brushes 1", 3/4" and 1/2" blocked in sky and land with no detail. 3. Outlined horizon and distant wall, added to sky. Blocked in stone shapes on wall. Used large, soft dry brush to blur and diffuse edges. 4. Added detail to wall and fence. Scratched and used palette knife and cotton buds to add plant detail to foreground. Materials used: canvas board, flat brushes, palette knife and cotton buds, liquitex acrylics - burnt sienna, grey, white ultramarine, alizarin, pthalo green, cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, raw umber, matte medium'
