PTG Exercise 3 - Moorland View
Barry Baxter sent in his version of the Moorland View saying: 'This time I have used acrylic on Oil Paint Paper instead of my normal Canvas Board. Pauls photo is a bit dark and dull for my normal preference for light and colour, especially as he had requested blended wet into wet colours etc which can easily turn to mud. So to comply a bit of creativity was needed! I initially applied gesso and tissue paper in random relief but to follow the detail and perpective of the photo and let it dry. Then with a limited palette I dripped/poured/sprayed paint and letting it dry within and along the created contours several times. Finally I brought out the highlights and some detail with a brush and palette knife.'
