Another completely individual approach to this subject, and a good decision to use the wash for the sky, if I may say so - I've done that, and to my surprise sold the painting on first viewing..... Wish I could do that more often.... Dynamic painting this one, with movement in those grasses leading you in to the picture plane. You want to explore, but would be well advised to wear walking boots, and carry a stout stick and a compass.

Annette Scholefield sent in her version of Moorland View saying: 'It was challenging to paint on a smaller scale, as I wanted to experiment with a new style. To start I used acrylic paper and covered parts with gesso to add texture and then added a wash on top. I used a limited palette of acrylics, phthalo blue, lemon yellow, naphthol crimson and payne's grey. When the paint was drying, I rubbed some of the colours off to reveal the wash underneath. For the sky, I used a wash instead of a thick covering of paint, which I like as it defines land from the sky more'
