Peter Kilpin sent in his version of Paul's exercise saying: "I am new to acrylic painting, having a go as a rest from my struggle with watercolour. For the painting I used Daler Rowney system 3 paints. The main colours were Titanium White, Prussian Blue, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber and a little Process Black for a grey on the far wall. I started by applying a coat of Lemon Yellow to the textured paper. I introduced some colour to the sky which I thought was a bit bland in the photo. After several goes I simplified the trees and added a bush to the left of the wall. I worked the foreground over a few times, trying to leave some base colour to indicate a path up to the gate."
