Barry Lowe sent in his version of Paul's second acrylic exercise saying: 'Please find attached my attempt at Paul’s latest Acrylics exercise. Did it straight away, never anything on the TV! Always looks better in real life, rather than photos. My ground was in Lemon Yellow as there was general impression of yellow in the greens and the wall. Other colours Pthalo Green, Yellow Ochre, burnt Sienna, Cerulean Blue, Ultramine, Titanium White and Mars Black. Mostly palette knife after some large brush work. Then a small flat brush to try and add some grass work. Trying to add enough blades of grass, mostly with palette knife, without overdoing it. As often the case don’t know when to stop!! Am trying to develop a palette knife style, I particularly like impressionist paintings. It will be interesting to see others, Paul’s as well ? Enjoying the fairly simple compositions that Paul is setting, even though certainly not straight forward in achieving the desired effect'
