John Elliott sent in his version of Paul's exercise saying: 'This was done in half an hour following a few quick sketches using the notan method. I resisted the urge to add a red tractor in the mid distance or a few cylindrical bales in the fore ground. I used only cobalt, yellow ochre, raw Siena, burnt umber and yellow, starting in a watercolour manner from the sky down on watercolour paper. I then proceeded to add straight from the tube the earth/straw colours with dry brush and credit card marks'
